Melinda Young – Illawarra Region of NSW, Australia .
The re-use and re-working of found materials are at the heart of my practice: including recycled wood and plastics, discarded artificial flowers and natural detritus. These materials have existing narratives, providing a point of connection for maker, wearer and viewer – and are drawn on in the creation of jewellery with new meaning, often inspired by real or imagined landscapes.
